I have learned a lot about the process of designing a research study in this class. The first thing that I learned is that it is a lot more complex than it seems. There are so many different aspects to consider when designing a study. One of the most difficult things for me was determining how to gain participants for my study. Without financial incentive it can be difficult to find individuals that are willing to participate, but through the use of the snowball method I think I could acquire enough willing participants. I also found that more steps go into the methodology than I originally thought. You have to notice every small and seemingly insignificant detail for a study to succeed. The methodology of a study is everything. The processes that I have learned helped me realize that conducting research is one of the most difficult jobs in professional and technical writing.
